The Opera Project exists for the sole purpose of training and presenting young Canadian artists to the public; bridging the gap between their training and establishing a career. Opera Appassionata is a registered charitable organization and performs concerts and operas at various locations in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Concerts are offered free of charge to seniors' homes and workshops are held for singers and musicians.

Founded in 1958, the Vancouver Opera had its first production in 1960. Today it is the third largest opera company in Canada. Each season traditional favourites and comtemporary pieces are performed, including Carmen, The Marriage of Fiargo, Of Mice and Men and many others. Productions take place at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
